Delivering Mail Responsibly: Tico Mail Works' 2026 Sustainability Report

At Tico Mail Works, how we operate matters as much as what we deliver. Since 1985, we've built our reputation on precision and reliability in print and mailing — while working to reduce our environmental impact and support our communities.

Our Commitment

We're targeting carbon neutrality by 2030, aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, backed by:

  • ISO 14001, ISO 9001, and ISO 27001 certification
  • An ethical supply chain programme
  • Employee profit sharing
  • Community support and fundraising initiatives

Tracking Our Footprint

We monitor waste, water, and energy use year on year. Waste is assessed with partner Panda.ie in line with CSRD, ISO 14001, and ESRS E5 frameworks; water consumption has remained stable since 2021; and energy use has stayed largely controlled, with a recent uptick we're actively investigating.

Reducing Our Impact

  • Paper: FSC-certified and recycled sourcing, sustainable forestry partnerships
  • Waste: Ongoing minimisation and recycling initiatives
  • Energy: Continuous monitoring and efficiency improvements
  • Operations: Optimised postal processes and reduced unnecessary transport

Planting for the Future: Aurora, Glencree

Our biggest milestone this year: on a 50-acre site in Co. Wicklow, our founder's family and over 130 volunteers planted more than 10,600 native Irish trees in spring 2026, after erecting 2km of fencing to protect them from deer over the winter. The site's growing woodland and wet heath will support carbon sequestration as part of our net-zero goal, while giving staff, families, and the wider community a shared, hands-on connection to the project.

Beyond Carbon: People, Ethics & Community

Our sustainability strategy rests on four pillars — Customers & Suppliers, Employees, Environment, and Community — covering everything from employee profit-sharing and flexible work practices to ethical procurement and local charity support.
