Our Environmental Commitment

At Tico Mail Works, environmental responsibility isn't an add-on - it has been part of how we operate since long before it became a business requirement.

Our commitment to sustainable practice is rooted in over a decade of active environmental management. We source FSC-certified and recycled paper, have run on 100% renewable electricity since 2015, and have operated a staff electric vehicle scheme since 2018. Our switch to LED lighting alone reduced lighting-related energy consumption by over 40%. We monitor and report on energy, water and waste annually — and our total greenhouse gas footprint for 2023/2024 was calculated at 212.29 tonnes of CO₂e, giving us a clear baseline from which to drive further reductions.

We are proud to hold ISO 14001 Environmental Management certification and EcoMerit certification, independently verifying our environmental standards. We are committed to reaching net zero by 2030.

Our environmental policy has deep roots. In 2008, our Chairman Alex Pigot was instrumental in writing the environmental policy for FEDMA - the Federation of European Direct and Interactive Marketing - while serving as Chair of their Environment Committee. That legacy of leadership continues to shape how we approach sustainability today.

Every year we publish our Sustainability Report - an honest account of our environmental performance, social commitments, and governance standards. It covers everything from waste management and water conservation to biodiversity initiatives and community partnerships.
